A week on Xanemo with a Greek captain I sail with myself. What the day looks like, what it costs, what to bring.
A skippered week on Xanemo means you bring family or friends, and a Greek captain (Nasos or one of the others I sail with myself) takes the helm. You don't sail her yourself — you learn by watching, if you want, or you lie on the foredeck and let someone else think. Both are fine.
The lead captain is Nasos. He knows these waters, he looks after Xanemo through the winter, and he's relaxed with mixed groups where experienced sailors and non-sailors are aboard together. If Nasos isn't free your week, it's one of the other Greek skippers I sail with myself.
The captain adapts to you. Want to sleep in? Sleep in. Want a long leg? Long leg. Want to take the wheel? Take the wheel.

| Day rate (typical) | ~€150/day |
| Per week | ~€1,050 |
| Included | Captain onboard, his accommodation (a cabin, or sofa in the saloon for tight groups) |
| Paid | Cash at charter start or direct to the captain at the end |
No formal expectation, but custom is to tip the captain 10–15% of his day rate if satisfied. On a one-week charter that's €100–150. Cash, at the end.
The captain's food is included — he eats onboard from what you eat. When you go to a restaurant ashore, it's customary to invite the captain along. He's not hired to sit alone on the boat while you dine — he's part of the group in that sense.
If you'd prefer to keep the captain on the boat for some reason, that's also fine — we agree it in advance.
Provisions can be ordered via Odyssey before arrival, or you shop yourselves in Volos the first morning.
